The GROWN-UP Stuff

How can a child get involved?

parent-pageBlue Tent kindles opportunities for kids who range in age from 18 months to 18 years and have experienced abuse and neglect. We also hope that in addition to providing enrichment to our affected population of children, we will be strengthening protective factors and parental social support networks to reduce the risk of abuse/neglect recidivism, re-entry to foster care, or re-involvement with state and nonprofit organizations.

Pre-Foster Care: We will serve children whose families are currently receiving prevention and preservation services (including but not limited to DSS treatment, investigations, voluntary case management, addiction treatment, etc.).

Present Foster Care: We will serve children who are in the legal custody of DSS.

Post-Foster Care: We will serve children for a limited time after case closure by the serving agency, reunification with birth/adoptive parents, legal adoption, or transfer of legal custody to a relative or caregiver.

Domestic Violence: We will serve children whose parents are involved with intimate partner violence agencies (ex. Safe Harbor, SAFE Homes, etc.)

Interventions: We will serve children who have experienced documented abuse and neglect without a history of foster care, but who receive intervention services from agencies like Continuum of Care or Child Advocacy Centers.
